The Fry That Isn't
French fries? That aren't fried or baked?
My enthusiasm over these crispy morsels is probably excessive. They are so perfectly, intuitively simple that they've likely been discovered long ago, and I'm just now catching up. But I have to extol their virtues anyway...
It's the most magical thing in the world. Slice some potatoes into nice, thin, French-fry matchsticks... Coat a non-stick pan with olive oil cooking spray, toss in the potato slices, and let them brown over medium-high heat, tossing and turning occasionally, and seasoning with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning as desired. The cooking spray ensures that only the faintest amount of oil is used, and they still somehow manage to turn out as crispy and succulent as one could ever wish!
Those look amazing! I love making potatoes that way! When I first saw the picture though, I was positive those were apples! (Even the 2nd picture too! Then I read!)
