March is definitely one of my favorite months... Not only did I just graduate this month, but my birthday is also in March!
Actually, my birthday was all the way back on March 8th, but I've had so many other things to blog about that I'm only now getting around to birthdays!
This year, we spent a peaceful, simple pleasures day... We both probably should have been studying, but instead we got up early and went to IHOP for coffee, a small-town pleasure I will probably never outgrow...
Then, we went to the zoo!
We visited a panda with very dainty table manners...
Had a giraffe come visit us...
Zach hung out with a very chill kangaroo...
We even pretended we were kids again, so we could visit the sheep and goats in the petting zoo!
We found otters basking in the sun, reminding us remarkably of our cats at home...
and we basked in the spring sunshine too!
Neither of us had been to the zoo since elementary school, and it was so much fun to rediscover the beauty and magic...
Back home at the end of the day, I opted for something other than a birthday cake this year... So simple, so easy, hardly even a recipe, but so luscious...
Amaretto Strawberries
4 cups whole strawberries, fresh or frozen
2 T Amaretto liqueur
1 T honey
~ In a saucepan over medium heat, simmer the strawberries, Amaretto, and honey until you have a thick, bubbly syrup.
~ Serve immediately, nice and warm, topped with whipped cream!

How luscious! Amaretto must be the theme this month. My boyfriend (whose birthday was the 13th) was endlessly talking about Amaretto too, just the other day.
