I've been contemplating ad nausim the various reasons I've been blogging less recently, but the most honest, non-existential, unglamorous reason is that I'm simply not home enough!
Last night, all this changed, however, because I awakened at two am wondering if a blogger app existed. Of course it did. And my life was thus transformed.
Case in point, Im currently at my parents home, miles away from Ohio, leaving Dayton in a rush to visit my grandmother who, sadly, had a stroke last week. Yet now, small and insignificant as it may seem, I'm able to find comfort in writing a note to my lovely blog friends, sharing a few photos of the more cheering elements of my brief trip: a bowl of blueberries, cheese on toast for breakfast, intensely black coffee, and greetings from my mother and Marigold the dog, of course.
I'm not entirely sure how this post will format when I publish it, so if you have mobile blogging tips to share I will gladly receive them! I've enjoyed being able to say hello from afar...

Hi.... And congratulations!
I'm not a blogger but I am a mom of 4 boys, 2 are mine and 2 are my husband's. Realizing my fast-paced, busy life has turned to almost nothing but fast-food I am resolved to learning how to cook yummy, healthful, quick meals for my family. I want their memories of their childhood and family life to be more than I've slowly become. I don't want to cheat my boys! So I'm determined to learn and find a better way. I'm constantly searching my little iPhone for something I can prepare that my little picky eaters will eat and enjoy. They are hungry growing teens (and one pre-teen). I came across your blog and I want you to know that you've inspired me! If a doctor and nurse can cook and eat like you guys do with what I know must be exhaustive work schedules then I can do this for my family too.
I love the way you write and it grabbed my attention. I wanted to say thank you! I'm married to a wonderful Cajun cook and we live in south Louisiana. It's our jobs that seem to have gotten us to this point of neglect in our kitchen. I need to dig deep and find the energy level I need to really get started with feeding my family the way I want to. I enjoy reading your blog!
Thanks for sharing.

LeLav, thank you so much for your incredibly kind comment! I am so touched and delighted to learn you've been enjoying our blog! So happy to meet a fellow south Louisiana cook, too!! :-)
Awesome! I really need an app too for that. At least when I travel I lug my laptop everywhere, but then there is the issue of time. When I travel (and it seems like I am always doing that these days) I am still working so any down time is for work. I have to grade papers and communicate with students, and now I am back in school too, which is why my posts are getting to be fewer these days too. I need an extra 2 hours in the day and then I think I will be good!
I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. It looks like she's smiling and happy though (and beautiful!).
How awesome that you can blog from an app!? But to be honest, I'm not shocked that there is an app for that!
I sometimes think it would be dangerous for me to blog remotely - so even though I can login to my blog on my parents' computers I avoid it for fear of being anti social - but you sound like you spend less time at home than me and I love your photos so it seems like it might just work for you
