Welcome to the home of the 21st Century Urban Pioneers!

I've never been good at living a "normal, balanced life." I work 60 to 70 hours a week as the manager of a huge and hectic inner-city medical center, attend business graduate school full time, and am attempting to forge a bread baking, sprouts growing, from scratch cooking return to the earth revolution right here in our home on the top floor of a re-purposed brick 1865 warehouse in the middle of a not-so-safe neighborhood of downtown Dayton, Ohio. My very patient husband works 80+ hours a week as an internal medicine physician at four different hospitals. We are an extremely sleep-deprived household. We cook seasonally and locally, celebrate our local CSA and farmers market, and do our best to purchase only whole foods, attempting to prepare everything from scratch. (I give us a pass on cheese, yogurt, tofu, and tempeh, or we would never sleep.) Come join us as we try to stay sane - and dine well along the way!
